Grilled Cheese
Servings: 1 | Time: 5 minutes
Golden, buttery, and unapologetically comforting—this grilled cheese is the kind of cozy lunch that feels like a deep breath in the middle of the day. Crisp on the outside, melty and indulgent on the inside, it’s simple in the best way: familiar, satisfying, and endlessly craveable. Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding a table, this is comfort food that never overcomplicates things.
And while this grilled cheese absolutely shines on its own, it truly comes alive when paired with a bowl of my creamy tomato soup. The dunking is encouraged, the nostalgia is real, and the combination is pure magic. If you’re craving a foolproof, feel-good meal, be sure to grab the tomato soup recipe on my website and make a cozy lunch out of it. 🥪🍅
Directions
Heat a sauté pan over medium heat and add half of the butter. Once melted, add the bread and gently coat one side in the butter. Remove the bread from the pan.
Add the remaining butter to the pan and return the bread, coating the second side. Cook over medium-high heat for 1–2 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed to prevent the butter from burning.
Add the cheese to one slice of bread, then top with the second slice to form a sandwich. Continue cooking, flipping once, for about 5 minutes total, until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden brown.
